Bajra Til Tikki Recipe | Pearl Millet Sesame Tikki Recipe | Sajjala Tikki

Bajra Til Tikki was often made by mom during winters . Recently I was in Bombay and mom made these for me. I wanted to share this healthy sweet recipe with you all.



Ingredients:
  1. Bajra flour - 2cups 
  2. Grated Jaggery - 1cup
  3. Sesame seeds - 1tbsp
  4. Oil as required
  5. 2 cups water


Method :-


  1. Add grated  jaggery in 2cups of water and let it stay for 10 minutes , once its completely mixed with water . strain it and keep the Jaggery water aside.
  2. In a bowl take Bajra flour , add Jaggery water and sesame seeds .Mix it well . The Consistency of this mixture should be dough like .
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and press it into round circles.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai/Wok for deep frying on medium flame.
  5. Fry Bajra balls in kadhai  on a medium flame. Cook till both sides become brownish.
  6. Serve it hot.This can be even stored and it stays fresh for 3 to 4 days.

Kharbuje ke Beej ki Barfi | Melon Seeds Sweet | How to make Melon seeds sweet

My mom made this Melon seed barfi on Janmasthmi recently its healthy and amazing in taste and a must try.






Ingredients :-

  1. 1 cup Melon seeds
  2. 1/2 cup Sugar
  3. 1/4 cup water
  4. 1/2 tsp Ghee/ Clarified butter



Method:-

  1. Dry roast the Melon seeds in a pan. Grind it in a mixer and keep it aside.
  2. In a pan add 1/4th cup water and sugar on a low flame till sugar is mixed properly with water. you will know its done you would see bubbles in the syrup.
  3. Add the grinded melon seeds to this mixture and stir it properly. Once the mixture starts sticking to the pan , turn off the flame.
  4. Take a plate add 1/2 tsp of ghee on it and spread it properly. Equally spread the melon seed and sugar mixture on this plate let it cool for 10 minutes .
  5. Now cut it in square or any shape you desire.
  6. Melon seeds Sweet/ Barfi is ready to be savored.

Semolina Carrot Cake

I found this healthy and nutritious recipe on a fellow blogger food blog Poonam .It's a change to the usual flour cakes we make and can be prepared in max 40 minutes.I just added raisins to the original recipe.Do try and let me know if you like it too :)



Ingredients :-
  1. 1 cup semolina
  2. 3/4 cup grated carrot
  3. 1 cup yogurt
  4. 1 cup milk
  5. 2 tsp olive oil
  6. 3/4 cup sugar
  7. 1/4 cup blanched almonds
  8. 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  9. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  10. 10-12 raisins
  11. pinch of salt


Method :-
  1. Preheat the oven at 350 degrees F and grease the cake pan.
  2. Take semolina in a mixing bowl. Add sugar, pinch of salt, oil, yogurt and milk. Mix well. Add shredded carrots and blanched almonds. Again mix this really well. Finally add cardamom powder, raisins and baking powder. Mix gently.
  3. Pour the batter in a cake pan and bake the cake for about 35 minutes.

Meethe Pakode ( Wheat and Jaggery Sweet)

Meethe Pakode or Pue is always made by mom as a Karwa Chauth sweet, although I didn't make it for Karwa Chauth ,I ended up making it for Diwali and it turned out to be real nice .This recipe is by mom where in she uses Jaggery as a sweetener. 

Ingredients :-
  1. 1 cup Wheat flour
  2. 1/2 cup Jaggery
  3. 1 cup water
  4. 1 tbsp of fennel seeds ( Sauf)
  5. oil for cooking

Method :-
  1. Take a bowl, add Wheat flour, Jaggery and water. Mix it well so that there are no lumps in it.Set it aside for 2 hours.
  2. After 2 hours add fennel seeds to it and mix it well.
  3. Take a Wok /Kadhai add enough oil so as to fry the pue.
  4. Once the oil is warm , put one spoon full of mixture to the oil.You can add about 4 to 5 at the same time.
  5. After a minute turn it upside down so that both sides are cooked evenly
  6. You would know the meethe Pakode are ready once its brown in color.
  7. Take it off the pan and serve it.
